Our Goal
Through our Design, Engineering, Production, Delivery and
Inspection processes and the Quality Control Mechanisms within
each area, we partner with our customers to produce the highest
quality construction product available at the most competitive
price. When you purchase an Engineered floor system from SPC
the following services are included:
Design
Our Floor System package includes a detailed
structural layout of the floor system. In the layout is
a list of the piece marks noting each joist quantity, length,
and series as well as a detail of all beams and headers required
by our structural analysis of the floor plan. Our method of
piece marking, starting from a common place on the layout,
using a simple alphanumeric order, gives the framer a logical
direction and pattern for installing the floor system.
Engineer
Using Engineered Lumber allows for longer spans and larger
open spaces desired in today’s residential construction.
Using our Manufacturer’s Structural Software (LP’s
Wood-E and GP’s Fast-Beam), we insure these spans and
loads are structurally supported. In addition, we engineer
our floor systems according to these design
standards, which are well above code minimum and industry
standards.
Production
All floor systems can be cut to the “exact length”,
engineered with the appropriate holes for HVAC, plumbing,
and electrical pre-cut at our production facility. This substantially
reduces framer and mechanical installation times. Installing
the mechanicals in the joist space allows for the cleaner/higher
ceiling detail demanded in today’s architectural designs.
Delivery
Delivery of the entire floor system is included in your package.
We use both short bed “slide off” delivery trucks
as well as tractor-trailers with Princeton forklifts to insure
the delivery is placed exactly where the project manager wants
it.
Inspection
After the floor system has been installed, our trained inspectors
perform a detailed inspection using software written specifically
for Tablet PC’s for use by SPC Inspectors. The inspection
process helps us identify any installation issues during the
framing stage, when it is easier to address them. We provide
a detailed report
and a CAD markup of
the issues identified and instructions for remedies. We can
also provide “Sealed” engineering letters required
by some local building officials. With our tablet technology,
we can provide such letters within 24 hours.
